Hi! I am Lisa Nolan of Confessions of a Montessori Mom

Who me? I'm craft-challenged, a lousy housekeeper, a great cook, and a dedicated locavore. I'm also a Montessori podcaster, blogger, homeschool consultant, and a stay-at-home work-at-home mom. Wait, where am I?

I took my Montessori primary training in 1986 at The Maria Montessori School of the Golden Gate in San Francisco with the late headmistress, Ursula Thrush. I took my Montessori elementary (6-9) training in 1988 at The Maria Montessori School of the Golden Gate in San Francisco (with the late headmistress Ursula Thrush) through the University Extension, University of California Berkeley. (Did I mention I have over 30 years of Montessori experience?)

I received an MA from San Francisco State University in English Literature and Creative Writing. I wrote a middle-grade novella, Frogs and Flies and Blackberry Pies. I was an indie book publisher for five years and my two anthologies include Motherhood May Cause Drowsiness and Mom for the Holidays. I also have an eight-year background in theater, including children's theater and underground comedy, in San Francisco.

I got married in 2002 and in 2004 we became proud parents of a child with Down syndrome. We live in Northern California where I can be found sitting in my son's playhouse--which I converted into a mom's den--reading historical fiction, sipping iced tea, and listening to birds and wind chimes.
